Profile

Das Journal is a modern German language newspaper with a bi-weekly circulation of 10,000 and an estimated readership of 30,000. It provides an editorial platform for the many German-, Austrian- and Swiss-Canadians living in Canada.

Over 3,179,425 Canadians of German, Austrian and Swiss descent make their home in Canada, of which some 1,144,560 live in Ontario. This makes them the third largest ethnic group in Canada and Ontario. This group represent a large and important segment of the Canadian ethnic mosaic. Mostly settled in and around the GTA as well as Kitchener/Waterloo, many German-speaking Canadians maintain their cultural heritage by supporting not only the various Associations, Social- and Business Clubs in their communities, but also keep a strong bond with their countries of origin.

Having already distribution outlets in place in Montreal, Das Journal will gradually expand further into Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia.
